update deprecated configs

This are minor changes to remove warnings related to deprecated configs. I will continue to write my thesis with this and report, if I run in trouble due to this changes. Please ask, if a changed line is unclear. Text chunks, that seem to be unchanged, are also in the commit diff because my editor removes leading white spaces automatically; sorry for that.
