Implementation tested with Ubuntu 18.04.
Required modules and libraries:
- Boost
- GNU Radio
- SWIG
- Python
Install instructions:
- Clone or download the project.
- Inside beesat-5to8-beacon-receiver/gr-BEESAT5to8BeaconReceiver create new folder 'build'.
- Inside the build folder run following commands in the terminal and check for errors:
- `cmake ..`
- `make`
- `sudo make install`
- `sudo ldconfig`
Operation instructions:
- Open GNU Radio in terminal with command `gnuradio-companion`.
- In GNU Radio open the flowgraph (.grc) inside the directory beesat-5to8-beacon-receiver/grc.
- Execute flowgraph (green play button).
Three different inputs are available, only one input at a time must be enabled.
- 'Wav File Source' to play an audio file.
- 'Audio Source' to use a radio.
- 'UHD: USRP Source' to use SDR hardware.
It could be necessary to adjust the input to your device.
If available we suggest to use the 'UHD: USRP Source'.
The 'Waterfall Sink' could be disabled if other input source is enabled.
Output messages are printed to the terminal.
The received messages are also stored in a log file on your computer,
see the directory TU_BERLIN_SDR_meta_files.
Audio files and raw data will be stored after being enabled in the flowgraph ('Wav File Sink' and 'File Sink') in GNU Radio.
